Excerpt of Chapter 1, Origin
“In 2017 I went to look for my origin. On the 28th of april 2017, during a road trip with 3 friends from uni we drove to Kura Tāwhiti… New Zealand is the southernmost point reached by Polynesian culture. There is no longer any doubt that the original settlers came from central Polynesia in several waves, the first some time between A.D. 500 and 1000. Traces of these early settlers have been discovered mainly in the southern island and along the northeastern coast of the northern island.” by Mirelle van Tulder

Global crises can also lead to very personal crises, with graphic designers, for example, who are looking for social relevance in their work.
In the self-published zine ISSUES, aspects of these identity crises are depicted, offering a chance to reflect on originality, change, oppression, truth, creativity and culture.
